Many Thanks Spirit!!
Ok dokey……….. Had a small issue with the radiator (zxr6 modified item) after firing the bike up. There was a small leak in the lower joint. I thought I’d just warm it up with a gas fitters torch before sending it away anywhere to see if the original solder might reseal it.

Worked out ok ………………….. After testing all was good !
Also fitted the temp gauge from the logger system and assigned it to channel 3 …

Always handy to keep clips from other bikes along the way for future use….

Once the sensors are all connected they need configuring and calibrating, more of that to come….

Well hello everybody! Down to the nitty gritty now ….
Sorted out a horn for the daylight MOT, the button here is from a different dash, it was for resetting values … simple job of wiring it up and looks a bit temporary but will do for the test.

Setting up the channels on the logger is one of the last steps before running the bike properly.
Apologies if the pictures aren’t 100% …
Ok here is the start up screen and the dash connected to the USB.

1. First off the rear wheel is measured with a tape around the centre of the tyre. The value is entered into the speed channel fields, 1 x sensor on the wheel entered so that’s that bit complete. Speed set to MPH
2. RPM channel has been set to a maximum of 12000 and setup is /2 sparks per revolution.

3. Shift Light settings for the 5 lights are: 1=8k 2=8.5k 3=9k 4=9.5k 5=10k. This is just a base setting which I’ll reset once the bikes been on the dyno and I’ll see when peak power is made.
4. Additional channels 1-4 can be assigned for a number of different sensors,
CH 7 has been disabled at the moment ….. more about that to come

Back to the others…..

1 .Has been disabled for the moment.
2. This will be the brake sensor with the range from 0-100bar
3. Water Temp ..Set in *C with Low Alarm light to come on at 60c and High Alarm at 100c
4. TPS … This is a little more involved ….

Here is the dash in the Live state..

Ok so the TPS (Throttle Position Sensor) is reading -16 in closed position.

Selecting the channel and going to the configuration page I’ll set the real open and closed values.

That’s the closed value stored….

Then Pinning he throttle to the stopand pressing store value and i've got the fully open position done......

OK Back to the channel screen ….

Once the values have been entered it's back to the config page to transmit the data to the dash…

Howdie all

So here it is finished in its present incarnation. Everything working as it should.
I had some issues with the airbox as the 900 RR is very sensitive to different filters and airbox mods etc and wouldn’t run
Above 5k originally.
I made a make shift airbox to fit under the FZR tank and experimented with cut outs in it covered with air filter foam until it ran all the way to the redline.
Overall its exceeded my expectations and I will definitely post more in the future with updates and track info.
For now it looks like a modified FZR 400 to the passing eye. In terms of performance the engine is ballistic and round Cadwell park was an absolute hoot!
The 400's small and tight chassis and the Blades grunty engine and top end rush are a mind bending combination.

Thanks for the encouraging words and compliments but I’m signing off for a while to spend the summer with my little toy!!!

HAPPY DAYS
