so the bike is running great now. that is a relief. I had to order a chain over the weekend. mine went from fine to instantly needing a new one in 2 days. this sucks. the wife is getting mad about the money I am dropping to keep it up. I haven't told her I am going to need a front tire soon. lol. oh well though. now I will get to put my new back brake disc on that I have needed to change for almost a yr.

haha, I hear ya joey. I go through the same thing with my girl. I still need parts and she is like no more lol. But its a project don't rush it, it will come together in time.

I still need a new set of tires, run through the cooling system and replace the sensors etc, speedo sensor and few others to finish it up.

well I finally got to ride the ole beast and it shifts fine runs ok, but when i let it run in neutral and let out on the clutch it has a bad noise, if i pull the clutch back in the noise goes away. I have pulled my clutch cover back off and cranked over the motor, the clutch basket looks like it wobbles or is warped, could this cause the noise im hearing?

it could be. There should be a bearing in back of the clutch basket. hopefully that is the only thing that is bad. or maybe look at the back of the basket to see if the basket has gotten out of round. don't know how it would happen but anything is possible. hope for the basket.lol less time to replace and probably cheaper. that would be about the only 2 things unless that shaft itself is completely bent.

I know the feeling. My bike didn't look as rough as yours when I got it. My wife asked what I had wrapped up in my redo on the 96 I bought and when I told her the look was pricelss. Kinda of suprised me too when I added it all up.

I Have been researching the transmission that I have in my garage. What I can see is that it is from the 93-94 900rr. That doesn't help me. I have a complete transmission and don't need it. I do need a shift drum for a 99. Lol. I am going to post it for sale. This sucks.
