Default 99 cbr 900rr - Rebuild

I was visiting with my family in virginia and decided to see whats in the area, found this 99 900rr with alot of extras. The bike is a mess atm but its getting stripped down and total run through.

I will get some pics of how its sitting atm, still on the back of my gmc terrain all plastics etc are in the back seat lol. The original motor is in the back along with the plastics, previous owner said it had problems and would not rev past 4000 rpm or something, so he bought a 97 motor and never finished the bike.If anyone knows what the motor problem is shoot me a pm.

There was 2 sets of plastics one set is painted - needs redone, and the others are furr. Its my project bike so i will post my rebuild as i go, can't wait to get started.

The plastics are just laying there atm, wanted to get a few pics with the way it currently looks, ill be redoing the extra plastics with new paint, and going to leave the furr to stunt with, its growing on me lawl.

The bike is pretty bad right now, soon as i get home its getting ripped apart.

If anyone has a radiator or other parts to sell, shoot me a mssg.

It was pretty cheap, and it came with alot of extra's, the furr plastics are all beat up so they covered it up, I have another set that came with to repaint, so the furr might be gone in the end. I plan on redoing the whole thing from front to back, even get the stock 99 motor back on it. I like to fix them up, so this is my project bike for those rainy days etc. I always loved the 900 look and well my 1000rr doesn't need anything atm, so now i got something to work on in my spare time.

Well I am back in Indy and have tore into the bike, degreased and cleaned everything.

Here is were it sits atm. cleaned up and waiting on new parts, all the fluids ( brakes, oil, antifreeze ) was changed out. Waiting on vortex chain and sprocket set. Brake pads front and rear, I will be sending the rims off next to get powder coated and new tires. The fairings will be the last thing i purchase, when its running smooth and whatnot.

I had it running already, carbs need adjusted and the fuel tank needs resealed and repainted. Took me about 24 hours to tear the beast down and clean. Now im on a parts hunt for little things that were missing or needed replaced.
