so I got this bike on trade and it sat for 2 years. I emptied the tank and threw in some fresh gas and threw some seafoam in it, took the bowls apart and cleaned the jets and floats. did an oil change with mobil1 motorcycle racing oil 10w40, new k&n oil filter, had the bike running up to 215 degrees yesterday. took it for a short spin and it wouldn't go past 6k rpms and got it home. turned it off and restarted after letting it cool down, started back up with no problems just ran rough till it warmed up past 160. went to go start it today now it wont start. key is on, kill switch switched to on, fuel is on. it does have a leaky petcock(have a replacement on the way). I'll hit the start button and half the time it does nothing then flip the key off then back on and till crank but wont fire except one puff here and there. i already replaced the starter solenoid relay which seemed to fix this problem but find it hard to believe the solenoid relay went bad. any ideas? id like to get this bike up and running for this season. just got the carbs back in at this point yesterday when I had it running Today on the trickle charger while trying to figure out why it wont start

UPDATE! got it started but continuously back fired, the spark plugs in the bike are about a week or 2 old. The idle was all over the place, ranging from 1500 to 3000. slight ticking while running
I agree with @hamlin6 . Sitting for 2 years and thinking that gas didn't varnish the carbs is a mistake. Just bite the bullet and do it. Give it the full Monty, dropping the bowls is not enough.
@honda rider 90s child If you haven't purchased your gaskets for your carburetors, I have a recommendation for you. I've purchased from this company since 2016 and no issues. Better parts and significantly less cost. Their O rings are made from Viton and will last longer than OEM.
So great news it running like it's almost new off the floor except now it idles at 4k to 5k rpm. Going to undo the throttle cables and see if they are binding. I've adjusted the idle screw with no luck of it fixing it. Any ideas you might have let me know
