Last night i was riding at about 2:30 in the morining it was very cold. i was traveling approx. 70-80 and my bike just lost all power and shut off i pulled to the side of the road and my bike would not start tried to to start and eventually ran my battery dead my question is what would start this is the battery getting old or is something else

 

first off clarify your subject i thought someone died while riding...

and also was your speedo working towards the end of the ride? because more than likely its just your battery going bad, mine just did the same thing after sitting for the season, you wont even be able to push start it... should be and easy fix

i was traveling down the road at aproxmitly 75 mph yes my speedo just went to zero as i slowed down my lights started to dim as i was pushing it off the road. i attpeted to start it but i wasnt sure if it was fuel or battery and now my bike will bearly has enough juice to power the lights i have not let it sit much though had for about 3 weeks and have put about 600 miles on it dont sdrive during week only on weekend would that efect it

 

yeah if the bettery is already going then sitting for days at a time without a trickle charger will push it faster...
best bet go out and buy a new battery there only 40 bucks and you should be set...

 

i think it ran out of fuel and i killed the battery before i switched it over to resrve thanks for the help
