Well i have an 04,i can tell you from experience with the 04. If you wanna get good gas mileage and keep it easy on ure bike, keep it under 8k. Thats where your secondary injectors come in.

And i was told to wait atleast till 140 degrees before riding the bike, just better for the bike. and i think automatic shutoff is at 240 or 245 degrees, but dont be worried about getting it to even 225 in hot weather and traffic. These bike get hot very quickly,i thought something was wrong iwth mynr b\c it would always be up past 215-220. but bike mechanic told me its all good, they just get that hot.

The comfortable rev would be whatever rev you're comfortable cruising at. There's no hard and fast rule. Everyone rides different.

220 is about normal. when i'm in traffic it goes to around 225. with water wetter it dropped down a lot faster. if i'm moving, i'm around 180. i live by the beach though so it's not as hot as inland.

I thought the secondary injectors kicked in around 6? hmmmmmmm....... mines geared up but I am a "low-rev" cruising guy, so I often leave it in 5th/6th when slowing from a 65-75 mph zone to say, a 35 mph zone. I like to run mine around the 4 grand range, untill im gettin on it or racing.... then its whatever gear it'll let me go in while having a few revs left :P
