Starter spins, engine won't.

Starter spins, engine won't.
Rode my'06 600RRall week to work, great weather, fun times. Parked in my driveway the other day, went out to dinner with wifey. Came home a couple hours later, started bike up, and pulled it into my shed for the night (only ran it for about a minute).
The next day, I pulled the bike out around noon to go to work, and when I went to start it, it kinda half-coughed, then quit, but the starter motor still spins. The starter motor goes, but the engine won't turn over now.
Any clue? The bike has around 6,000 miles, and has never given me any problems. I've searched all the other posts, and no one really seems to have a solution for this problem.

RE: Starter spins, engine won't.
Actually, I went back and double checked--the engine is spinning, because I get "poofs" from the muffler while it's trying to start, so it's getting compression.
I've checked all the wiring harnesses I can see, pulled off the computer, disconnected and reconnected everything. Checked the air filter, peeked in at thethrottle bodies and stacks, checkedthe main 6-pin connecter for the coils, man I've been over every square inch of the bike.
I'm not sure, but I get the feeling that it's not getting spark, which might indicate that the ECM is bad, since none of the coilsare firing(or at least it would fire on some cylinders--you don't just lose all four spark plugs at once!).
Any thoughts?
