Default Registering Bike Question

I am switching over the title of my bike to my name. Went to the DMV and they said that they needed the number off the engine block. They said that it was stamped on the engine. I looked (without removing the fairings) and all I found was the VIN number stamped on a part of the bike and a badge with more numbers on it (by the steering column on the left side), but I don't think the info on the badge was what they needed. I have a 2004 CBR600RR. Any ideas to where I can find this number?

Depends on the state. Some just need the Vinyl, some need the vin off the bike and block and some need the vin and the engine block number. That should be on the rear of the engine between the mounts.
