Default Melted Fairing?

WTF? I recently replaced the sprockets on my '03 600rr and to my astonishment, I pulled off my fairings and I noticed that the headers started to melt my damn lower fairing! Has anyone had this problem? My frame isn't cracked, however the person that i bought it from did drop it on the right side. (This is the side that the fairing is melting.) Any help would be fantastic.

wtf? never heard of that, is the fairing super close to the manifold? cause Ive well almost over heated my bike for over 1-2hrs of constant riding in 115degree heat at 11000 rpms cause of sprockets and never had it melt... you can go to home depot and get some heat wrap for your header or you can put heat tape on your fairing on the inside... thats probably the best thing to do man. It should work perfect. and its cheap.

The lower fairing is super close to the down pipe of the headers. You should check the bolting point on the fairing on the right side to see if they've been bent as a result of the guy dropping the thing. If they are, the fairings might be mounted closer to the hot spots than they should be causing the melts.
