Default Melted Fairings

Hey there, I'm trying to find out if anyone else is having any problems with their lower fairings melting on their 1000RR. I've got an '06 with 9100 miles on it. The right side fairing has a little brown spot on the Honda sticker. The left side fairing is already warped and the sticker is just about gone. Its never been down so nothing has been bent or anything like that. I have the stock header with Yosh RS-5 Slip-on. I went to the dealer and I will find out Tuesday if they are going to warranty it. Any info will be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Yeah mine did it to, I just took the fairings off and wraped the pipe with that thermal tape, put the plastics back on and bingo no more problems

use header wrap,it looks awsome and it works
just don't get it wet- retains moisture rusts out pipes- been there seen that

Oh yeah I should have mentioned that, I didn't think about it cause my bike never leaves the garage when its wet out.

Wuzup, I had that problem, I have a 2Bros Vale slip-on, although the problem started before I switched out the pipe. I order "Heat Tape" from Two Brothers website. I put that on the inside of the fairings and the melting stopped. Just in case you haven't found another solution. Good Luck with that, ride safe, ride hard.

instead of wraping the header, guard the inside of the fairing to reflect the heat. im not sure what but thats what i would research and do because you never know if your going to be caught in the rain.
