LOST MY ONLY KEY TO 05 600RR
You will have to contact a dealership and get a new key. I'm not sure if they can make one based off of your serial number or not. I know there is a number on your key ( not any good to you now) that you can bring to the dealership and they can make key to that number. If you are not the original owner, check the manual. Some people will put the key number in the back of the book. if its there, you can just use that number.
or, get yourself a metal detector and find your key..lol. oh, make sure its not in rear seat lock on the side of the bike.... I've done that a few times.

miami isnt the safest place to do that either

Yea there should be a silver metal piece that came with the bike that has a number on it. If you have that then you can just take it to the dealership I think and get a new one. They might have to order it though im not sure
Our bikes come with 2 keys from the dealership, so if he lost his only key, He probably bought used, and is unlikely to have the little metal tag that has the key's number code on it.
Still, the dealership might be able to help out, if not, you can find full (salvaged/ parted out bike) locksets on ebay for cheap.
Another option would be to take one of your locks, (preferably ignition, but tailmight work) to a locksmith. they have ways to hand cut a key based on the lock. It is time consuming, and therefore expensive, and not all locksmiths know how to do it, so you'll have to ask arround.
Sorry, but your only quick fix will be the dealership, otherwise you'll have to spend either some time, or money, or both.

I am in the same predicament as you.
lost my '03 key.
the local dealer ship said they can't get a new one and said to cut it by impression at a lock smith. but i got a hold of lock smith 45min south that said they can do it buy the number on the back side of the ignition. good luck getting that sucker off though, it seems to be an odd size torx bit and i couldn't get it off. (yes i had a full set, it between a T30 and a T40, which is not a standard size) anyways, my bike is in the back of a pickup ready to be brought to a mechinic to see if he can get the lock cylinder off for me so i can bring it to the lock smith. good luck keep us posted if you find a magical solution.

Same thing happend to me about a year ago. With the 2005 they can't cut the key with the vin number or that metal thing. I tried everything, and they couldn't do anything. The reason why they told me no was because i guess our key is longer than the other ones or something stupid like that. I had to pay a locksmith that would even do it, that was that hardest part, i had to call around a bunch of different places. I FINALLY found a guy to come out and do it and that **** cost me $210 for one key, the only other place i found wanted me to bring the locking mechanism to his shop. so good luck, just pay the money for a mobile locksmith to help you with it, and make spares. the thing that really sucks, is i just moved two months ago... and i found my damn original spare.
