my was an 02 and i got it in 05.......... either way i wouldnt buy a bike with 40k for that much ....... i sold my 02 with 20k and exhaust for 2300 .
better for you?????????

Thanks for all the replies. I talked with him and he said there's absolutely nothing wrong with any of the parts. Sprockets, chains, tires, etc still have a lot of life in them. The bike is a 2004 btw and it took a while but I've got him down to 2800 if he excludes his arai helmet.

I wasn't trying to be a d!ck. Sorry if it came off that way, my bad. Just without more info it was hard to know if it was good or bad.

How are the fairings. Any scratches or cracks or dents in the tank?

Nope. Everything checks out pretty well. I gotta say though, I'm a bit scared of a 600. It's not as forgiving as a bike such as the ninja 250r. I'm beginning to leans towards waiting for the new honda cbr 250r this coming fall, but what do you guys think? Will I probably grow out of a 250r really fast?

What type of riding are you going to be doing? If its just to and from work then a 250 will be great. But if you want o hit the twisties then yeah you will probably grow out of it. A 600 i more forgiving than you think. When you crack the throttle open it won't instantly flip you over backwards or anything like that. Yes it can still hurt you in a hurry and yes you have to respect it. If it was me I would stick with the 600.
