factory heat sheild on or off

Default factory heat sheild on or off

hello my fellow cbr riders, i just put a yoshi slip on pipe on my 06 RR and i was wondering how u guys felt about the factory heat sheild. with it off the bikes look hot. but i wanted to know if the right side foot peg was still stable and if more heat came off the mid pipe with the factory sheild off. thanks for the help in advance.

Yes, a lot of heat will come off, but it's no different than cruiser's if you think about it. Just watch your pants and boots on it.

I had it off and never realized too much of a difference, however, I just put on my new carbon fiberr heat shield instead because I like how that looks, just my opinion

mine is off.. its great and looks nice. You wont notice the heat at all, I dont. Your passenger however will, I have to clean my girlfriends melted shoe rubber off the pipe quite frequently, but I feel that its worth the bling factor, just dont let your passenger wear shorts (not that you should anyways) but you will get burned.

I had mine off for the 1 day I was waiting for the black high-temp paint to cure. HOLY CRAP was my right leg burning up (especially at stop lights).

I would suggest painting it black with high-temp paint, therefore it doesn't stick out like a sore thumb........
