Dyno and Heat Sheild - '08 CBR600RR
Just put a PC III in last weekend and downloaded the Akrapovic map from the site. I've heard that because theonline maps are generated in Las Vegas, NVand their gas and elevation is way different from CA, the maps are not ideal. My question is -performance wise I only have a slip on Akrapovic exhaust - do you think spending $300 for a Dyno tune would be worth it?
Also, I modified the heat shield under the tail soit wouldn’t show when I removed some of the back fender. Can Iremovethe entire heat shield? Will that affect the plastics underneath?

THe peak power may not change much..But the lower throttle areas is where you will see the biggest difference. I rode on a dl map for awhile, then went to a friends custom map, then finally dyno tuned mine.. Air/fuel was pretty much the same, but the throttle response is night and day esp down low.
Heat shield -no help there.
