Exclamation CAREFUL...parking bike in the hot weather.

I rode my 2009 CRB to my buddy's boat and left it in a parking lot behind my friends car. Well it must have hit 90 or 95 degrees that day in the direct sunlight. Long story short, i get back to the parking lot around 5 or 6pm and the bike had fallen over, luckily laying against a fense next to it.

The kick stand must have gotten so hot, that is actually melted (i guess thats the word) through the concrete enough that it fell over. on its way down, it ripped out a chunk of the concrete with it... stuck on the kickstand (a good 6 inches diameter)!

a friend of mine gave me these plastic "coasters" that you can put under your kickstand to help prevent something like this from happening.

Luckily for the fense, the bike didnt slam against the ground, rather layed against the fense. rear tail light came lose (which went back on rather easily) and some minor scratched under the body which isnt visable from a standing position.

Anyway... careful leaving the bike on HOT DAYS!!!!

It was probably asphalt. It would have to get REALLY hot for it to soften concrete.

Anyway, also be careful which way you park your bike if you have a double bubble screen. If it is facing north the sunlight out of the south can reflect off the back of the screen and focus on the display and leave a burn mark or other things.
