Replace it with OEM. The high flow filters (like the K&Ns) are not worth it unless you have serious internal mods.

and with forced air induction, you're not getting any more. the bike is never SUCKING AIR because the airbox is constantly pressurized when at speed! they are simply not worth it. the only place you're going to find improvement is on the dyno where there is no pressure on the airbox. no wind, no pressure. yeah sure there's a fan... that's not 60mph worth of pressure though. maybe 10mph... 3 or 4 more HP? Yeah, maybe in the middle of the RPM band, MAYBE. don't believe the hype.

High Flow Filters are not worth it. use OEM.

not doubting your knowledge at all slugger, you seem very knowledgable,

so, if they are all hype and no different than OEM, why would you want one if you have internal mods?
and wouldnt 3 hp be worth it wherever it kicks in?

because you'd be racing (or have very deep pockets). at those high RPMs and speeds your bike is really blowing out some air out the exhaust, which requires a TON of air flow. street riding never sees that kind of environment. I guess if you were concerned with midrange power then yeah get it, but you're not going to see that much of a gain.

Isn't midrange power pretty much where you need it the most?

tests have shown that K&N air filters don't flow more air than stock filters, the only real advantage would be reusability which imo is worth the extra $
