Advice on buying, please help
I've been following this forum for a bit and I'm looking for some solid advice.
I'm in AZ right now, moving to Maryland shortly, looking to upgrade from my Suzuki GS500. I realize you guys are a bit biased, but I noticed quite a few on this forum have noted the Triumph Daytona 675 as being a great bike. Right now I'm looking hard at the 08 CBR and 07 Kawi. I like the Kaw zx6r because it a great looking bike, great transmission, and I'm not planning on racing. I love the Honda from what I hear about it, but they are expensive (how much should I be looking to pay for the 08's in Nov?) And finally, if CBR enthusiasts are excited about the Triumph, clearly there is something to be said for that bike too. Any thoughts?

A lot of people have owned or currently own more than one bike. It's hard to go wrong with ANY of them really. Get the one that you will still want to look at when you open the garage in 5 years. THAT is the most important part........get the one that calls to you. Very few people can ride them to their potential anyway, you unfortunately are probably one of those (as am I).......and if you try it on the street you wont be around very long so.......does 3hp matter? Not really.
Get the '07, its literally almost the same bike as the '08s and youll save a lot. Unless you want to pay a thousand more for a different color. And like gixxereater said, get one that you feel good sitting on and is comfortable since you most likely won't be pushing it to the limits where there may be a real noticable difference in the different brands.
I am picking up an 07 for 8.5K new 08s will go for MSRP at the majority of dealerships that you will walk into. The funny part is that I had the option of getting a GSXR600 for 7K with less then 5K miles on it, but I walked on it cuz I think the 07 rr is just sexy
I picked up my 07 CBR600RR three weeks ago & I have already hit my 600 mile mark.
This bike is only for pimp's & ho's.
I truly belive this bike is the cream of the crop. But then again the bike is only as good as it rider.
$8300 out the door.

The '07 CBR600RR is an Amazing Bike. That is why they ran it against the Duc. 1098 and Gixxer 1k for bike of the year and it came in second place with a 1.something second time difference then the gixxer.
It can hold its own period. They didn't put the ZX6r up there against those bikes... My die hard Kawi riding buddy said if he had to update from his '06 636 to an '07 Bike, he said that he would not get the Kawi but the CBR. I personally don't know much about the '07 Kawi so I'm not going to sway you anyway or the other (just tell you what i've heard personally). If you decide to go with the 600rr get the '07. '08 Same bike as the '07s just some different color schemes and you'll be paying MSRP.

My suggestion would be to ride a few demo's. They are out there... any good shop will let you take a quick spin. And with that said, find one that fits you, and one that you fit the bike. I have an 05 600RR that I will probably not part with.. its a great bike. I also have a Ducati Hypermotard.. again, awesome bike. If you are looking for one solid bike, take your time and really check them all out.
P.S. ... the Triumph Speed Triple is a sweet, sweet bike. How bout the KTM Super Duke?? My new favorite... hope to have one soon.. Good Luck.
