Default 09 tire hugger tapping noise

Every since I took off the original tire hugger and replaced it with OEM new one, it makes tapping noise when I go over the holes or little bumps. All the bolts are tight. I even had my mechanic made sure I tighten them good. It's not coming from chain. Chain is not lose at all. It did start making noise right after the change of tire hugger, so it has to be coming from it.

I don't like hearing unnecessary noise in general. But when I go out of the driveway every time, that stupid sound makes me nervous like my bike is falling apart or something. I just have the bolts on without any washer or rubber under the hugger. That's how it is put on, right?

Does any of your bike make tapping or rattling noise like mine from the rear when you go over some bumps and pothole?

No, not yet. I only have 1,100 miles so no odd noises yet.

I really really think it is the hugger that causing it. I wonder if I should get another one since it is pretty cheap. Maybe they sold me some other year not 09.
Bolt # 21 and 22 do not go with hugger, right?

I am missing the "collar". That's why it keeps making the noise.

yup tats prolly it, so the hugger isnt really tight, just held on by the bolts so you hit a bump it bounces a lil.

Try and take the hugger off and ride to see if that fixes the problem. If it does not make that noise any more then you know its the hugger. When you put if back on make sure you have the collar or put some rubber washers inbetween the screws and the hugger to see if that helps.

I am 100% sure it is the hugger. When I bought the painted one, the repair shop put it on, but was little higher than the OEM one, so I couldn't use it. I told them to out the old one on (which was melted by pipe... I let someone heavier than me rode it) . When I got the replacement OEM, I put that on. And noise happened after that. And I don't remember seeing that collar piece. So it is causing the noise

Problem

In that pic above, how do you read it? do you need just 1 collar or more? The dealer sold me 2, but I first installed just 1, then it was still making noise. So I put 2, one in the back, and one on left side. noise is much less. But I still hear it on right side, so I got another one and proceed to install on right side. Right side has brake hose guide thing, so it made the hugger bit higher, and yesterdat my pipe hit and melted a small potion of it again.

Now I look at the pic, I think I was supposed to make sure that little edge on that hose guide thing is supposed to go into a little hole. I will look at that before I ride this morning and see . Maybe that is making the noise.

In the mean while, I took off the collar from right side.
