tapping noise
hello all, im new around here, and new to motorcycles, but not to motorsports and getting my hands dirty. so i just bought a 1993 cbr 600 and my friend rode it home for me because i dont have my endorsement yet. anyway, no problems, it ran fine he said. smooth power, the only weird thing was it got a little warm.
anyway i went to class, and when i got back i was messing around with it, and i appearently left it on a hill in my yard, because when i got off of it, it fell away from the kickstand onto the right side. i know im a newb. anyway, i picked it up, and looked if anything was out of order.my mirror was bent but aside from that it seemed fine.
i started it up, and it was making this terrible ticking noise. i assumed i bent the plastics against something or something along those lines. so this morning i pulled the plastics off to see if anything was causing the noise and i couldnt find anything. sounds almost like a valve timing issue.
i did some research and it could be the cct or it could be my cams are out of time. but i dont know how this could have happened from just dropping it in the grass. anyway, im wondering if you all can help me pin point the cause, or am i just going to have to buy a manual tensioner and see if that fixes it.
thanks, all input is appreciated.

pull your right side fairing, if your cam chain tensioner is the stock unit, that would most likely be the source of the tick/tapping you're hearing. I recall there was a fix for this, but I dont know what it was exactly. if the valve timing was off, it wouldnt run as well as you're suggesting.
Does the ticking go away when you get the RPMs up? If it does, then my money's on your CCT. Splurge and get a manual one that you can adjust to your liking. They are super easy to replace. You may need to get a new gasket for it as well. A stock one will work just fine.
