Tire question
Hello all..well I have put 6800 miles on my bike since getting it in march, and what fun it has been. It's time for a rear tire change though, as I managed to run over something sharp and punctured the tire.
Question: I am trying to find the correct tire size in order to order a new tire online, at which point I will then take it to a shop and have it put on the removed wheel. I don't really know much about sizing tires for motorcycles, but according to Dunlops site the size I need for my F4 is a 180/55ZR17. My only concern before ordering that size is that on my old tire has 170/60ZR17markings. What size should I order? Does the 170 size indicate that perhaps a different rim is on the bike or are the two sizes interchangable?
Thanks

Sizewise, either of those should fit on the same rim - the difference in width is only a centimeter. The 170 that's on there is slightly taller (3 mm). Going to the 180 width, you have to go to the 55 like dunlop recommends, or you would probably run into clearance issues (around the tire, not beside it) with the 60.
