Default Tire question

My rear tire is bald so I need a new one. I can get a race compound Dunlop Sportmax GP takeoff from a friends race bike. My front is a Bridgestone BT014 and has plenty of tread left. Would this be a bad combo?

Yes. Sticky on the rear not so sticky on the front might cause some hairy handling depending how hard you push it. Why not replace your rear tire to match your front?

I'm guessing his buddy will hook him up for the used tire, whereas a new tire is costly..

Don't be cheap on tires, buy a matching set.

If you don't, you're actually 60% retarded... Really... It's a fact.

Yeah, I'm a cheap bastard is why I'd do this. As for hairy handling, I doubt it could get any worse. My headset is shot and the thing wants to tankslap at any speed above 0.

2 different tyres (depending on what their built for) will NOT cause any problems.
