question about motor swap?

Default question about motor swap?

i bought another 2000 f4 to tinker with it has a bad motor
has anyone ever put a newer 600rr motor on the frame
what years will bolt up

I'm pretty sure the RR engine won't fit... The F4i engine doesn't even fit as far as I know (because of a different airbox etc. This is just what I've read though).

got ya just woundering is all if i couls i would like to use a newer setup if not just going to rebuild the f4 motor
i have a guy with a wrecked f41cracked frame bent up forks but motor is good
maby if i use the tank off the f41 airbox everything it may work he only wants 400 for the f41 kinda hard to go wrong

lol... wow

F4i and f4 motors are the same. (dimensionally)

As far as I know the F4 and F4I motors are the same the only difference was the head, intake and tank and of course you will also need the ecu and all of the wiring from the f4i. But it should be a direct swap I had a buddy a few years back that needed a new frame after a wreck and ended up using an F4I frame on an F4 and everything bolted straight up.

Lol wow what? Yes dimensionally they are the same so yes it'll bolt up (fit). But you'll still need the airbox, tank etc. in order for it to work.

How is that so funny?
