Default Oil filter question

Noticed on several different brands of motorcycle oil filter, they have a listing for the Honda F3 that goes up to a 1998 and then it jumps to the 2001 F4i. What do the people with the F4 do? Do we use the oil filter for the F3 or F4i?

f4 filter is actually a little different than f4i...it's a bit longer...think it's like 2" vs. 1.5". i usually use the biggest filter i can fit in there without any obstructions, but with same bypass capacity.

beenusing purolator pure 1 oil filters in all my vehicles....its the same for one of my cars and all my Kawi's, saving space on the shelf.Being an engineer has its perks...a budy of mine works in the automotive/contruction/ag filtration industry....he uses purolator too.

I'm currently using the Pure One. I've also used K&N and Mobil 1 without any problems. Just have a local auto parts store cross reference the Fram PH6017A number.

Personally I go for the K&N, it's the K&N303 you need for the F4 (F-X/Y)
