hello everyone i am new to the whole motorcycle world and unfortunately i got taken as the fool that i was while i was in iraq... I bought abike from a company around my area and they sold me a bike with abent crank shaft.... Now i paid 3000 for it and they told me that all i needed to do is change the stator so i said find thats cool bc i am a car mechanic so i thought i could do it. It just seemed way to hard to install a cover that should have been so simple. I then brought the bike to a honda dealer and they told me the crank was bent.... Thus i need a new engine, the title for this bike says that it only had 3k miles on it!! but obviously that is not true anyone around my area with an engine or a suggestion of what i can do please help.... i live in Hartford, CT thank you again...

 

If it is titled as 3000 miles, you may want to check into replacing the crank and going through the rest of the motor. A used engine may suffer problems as well. This way you know what you have and the value will be maintained, because it still has the origianl motor in it.

 

gotcha... thank you for the info. So where do i go about buying a crank?? and how much am i looking to spend?

 

Well. who is doing the wrenching? If from a dealer, you know you really need to buy it from them. Otherwise, you may want to try Service Honda, for parts. I have used them from for parts once, and have had good luck with them and their prices.

 

i will do the wrenching through out the winter time this way it will give me a good look at motorcycles ofcourse i have a friend that works with bikes but i am at work and decided to get other insight and i will trying that site is it?? thank youa gain...
