Default F4 Clutch Problem... Need Help/Advice Please. THANKS

Alright, so I recently brought a 99 F4 and it didn't have a front end but that wasn't a big deal to me. I recently just kind of figure out that it seem to not have a 5th or 6th gear.

I just took it out on the freeway today and it seems like I couldn't pop it up 5th or 6th. I pop the clutch from 4th to 5th and nothing happen. The rpm remain the same

I'm going 60mph and the rpm is at 4-5k I tried to pop it in 5th from 4th and it still remain 4-5k.

I have no clue what's wrong please help please or else I might have to take it to a motorcycle shop and have them deal with it but I wasn't trying to spend that much to fix it. Hopefully it isn't as bad as I think it is.

Thanks ahead of time.

Is it actually changing gears? If it is, I would check: oil (level and condition), clutch lever adjusted to tight. Other than that there's not much else to it.

Are you sure you are not changing gears? The RPM's at 60mph are gonna be pretty close. What i'd do if i were you is wrap it out a bit more and it'll be more evident if you don't have 5th and 6th.

use an open stretch of road and look at your gauges when you shift. get to 60mph in 3rd gear shift to 4th, should be 1,200 rpm drop, from 4th to 5th should be 1000 rpm drop and from 5th to 6th should be 800 to 900 rpm drop. dont know you riding exprence but you will able to hear and feel when and if you bike shifts.

if you bike isn't shift in to higher gears. the shift drum or the shift forks maybe damaged it wouldn't be with the clutch

thanks a lot guys. I actually found back road that was pretty far. I went up to 60ph in 4th gear and I finally went to 70mph and go into 5th gear. I also saw the rpm gauge drop too. I haven't gotten into 6th.

So here's my new questions. For myself to get into 6th gear I would need to push it or ride a bit faster correct? That's what I'm thinking right now but not too sure, let me know you guys thought about this.

Thanks. I appreciate all the help

you can get into 6th gear at 40mph it's just not nessasacry, it's an overdrive gear for longer travel
