clutch changing advice???
well i just have some clutch questions for someone who knows. im replacing the clutch in my 93 f2 with an OEM one and id like to get a basic rundown from someone on how to do it. i do have a clymer book that tells me everything but i get confused when it talks about the "Clutch Center Holder". why do i need that tool to get the center locknut bolt off? and also what is it with holding the alignment? it says u can install a clutch spring with a flat washer and the lifter plate bolt to keep the plates in alignment. maybe its simple and i just dont get it but i'd really like to know the right way to do it the first time cause this is my only ride and i need to be able to get it back together and riding in the same day! i ordered all my parts from cheapcycleparts.com and believe i got everything i need
(gasket, springs, friction plates, metal plates, spring seat, judder spring and center locknut). i have 65,000 miles and basically ordered everything i could for the clutch to ensure i wont have to change it again.i went with OEM again cause if its lasted this long why change that!!! anyway if someone can explain a simpler way to do it or the answers to some of my questions it would be much appreciated. THANKS ALOT!!!!

You don't need a clutch holder tool if you have an impact wrench.
As for the alignment of the plates, there is no particular way to align them, you just need to fiddle with the plates to get the tabs into the clutch basket slots. (You'll see what I mean when you get to it)
Just follow the manual and take your time. Be careful not to over torque the clutch spring bolts, they'll snap.
Also take care with the installation of the judder spring, it has a bevelled edge and is installed in a particular way.
