bike quits running answer
OK, I have seen the question many times on here. I know because I had the same problem and researched everything I could and nothing seemed to work. I finally figured it out and have had no problems since. Not going to say it will fix every1s problem but from what I've read of these posts it seems like it. Check the fuel pump points. Mine were worn odd and would stick after they got hot. Sitting at lights or stop signs was when it really messed up or cut out. You can buy just the points for around $30 off eBay.

Well at the time of finding out it was the points I asked a local shop if there was a rebuild kit and he said not that he knew of. I bought a slightly used one so I didn't have to wait to ride. I kept my old one, I'm going to get the new points then I have a back up. I wouldn't trust a cheap pump to last long. To each their own but that's just me.

I have one of the new $30.00 pumps I got off of ebay.
#1 The wiring harness is about 2-3 inches shorter.
#2 Its sitting on my desk because it won't fire. $30.00 paper weight.
If you're going to get a new pump, I definitely recommend not going after the cheapest one you can find, unless it has a proven track record.

I wouldn't recommend getting an ebay fuel pump. My fuel pump failed a month ago and I bought one...hooked it up and worked great. Took it for a ride and when I got back it was leaking like crazy...just went with an OEM one.
Also this did not fix my over heating issue. I have had the bike die on me once since replacing it but I also haven't been stuck in traffic too many times long enough without moving.
I've done a coolant flush and it didn't help. I haven't tried Engine Ice or Water Wetter yet though...I may have to try.
