beginner rider...which bike to start on?

RE: beginner rider...which bike to start on?
I had 1 hour riding experience in wich I hurt myself a little and then saved up and bought an F3 to start on. I ride with gear and don't try to impress myself yet. I did not want to learn on a gay bike and have to get rid of it sooner when an F3 goes just as slow as a Boulevard 650 and I learn how telepathic handling a sportbike is. I could've learned on a 'Busa ( my idiot friend was gonna let me) but I didn't trust my discipline. But I am old and have more fear than younger dudes.

I would have to Agree with most on this topic, I own Both a Pristine 1994 CBR 600 F2 ( For Sale by the way ) and a 2001 600 F4I, My frist "starter" bike was a VTR Honda 250, wrecked and totaled within 2 months by no fault of my own. then moved on to my first '94 600 F2. Great bike for its Time, and i still consider it to be a wonderful motorcycle. But have to agree with the others, the F4I has ALOT more "Umph" then my 94, and i can swap riding them at anytime, so in closing i would lean more towards a bike a few years old, easier on the wallet then a newer version, and have some fun with it.....good luck with your search
