Default Basic Maintenance Help!

Hey guys, so my bike won't turn over after I installed a fresh battery on it. I havent ridden it in a few months so I would like to do some basic maintenance on it to get it back up and running. I would like to start with cleaning the carbs and I found a great tutorial on it here:

https://cbrforum.com/forum/how-mecha...r-carbs-40713/

The only problem is I have no clue how to get to my carbs. What do I need to remove in order to clean out my carbs and examine my spark plugs? I also have a copy of the service manual but I can't really make anything out of it.

Thanks for the help!

I wouldn't start with carb cleaning if you have no knowledge about basic maintenance. first of all get a manual of the bike either on line or a hard copy.
start with oil changing, plug inspection and change, and chain tightening.

if you insist to get to the carbs, take off the fuel tank, and then the airbox. to release the manifold screws you will need to remove the side fairings.
before you remove the carbs you would also have to drain the coolant. for this note you have 2 drain bolts, on the water (coolant) pump and on the left bottom of the cylinders.

last thing, to get you bike going I'd start with replacing the fuel. after several months, if there wasn't any stabilator added to the fuel, by now it's no good.

more last, if you are replacing the plugs put iridium plugs so you won't have to do it again.

Are you getting any power at all?
Sometimes you have to give new batteries a good charge before you use it.

If its not even turning over make sure the battery is charged, connections are tight, kill switch is off, side stand is up, bike is in neutral, clutch lever is pulled in. If it still wont start post back here.
