Default Tach Problems - Won't Rev Past 2,300 RPM

Just this morning I cranked up the bike and the tach only revs toabout 2,300 RPM. If I rev it past that, the guage falls back to zero. I tried tapping on the guage, but no change.

I haven't checked the connections yet, though. I thought this was one of those components that either works or doesn't. Anyone else ever see this?

Thanks in advance!

if your MPH and Trip Meter is working correct, then your RPM gauge is bad.

RATS. Yeah everything else works. I'll still check the connections later.

you can also remove the screws in the back behind the RPM gauge and clean the contacts.
