Default sticking throttle

I have noticed that my throttle doesn't return on it's own. I know the grips have been replaced, and that's what the person I bought the bike thought it would be. What should I try to do to fix this?

Adjust those two adjusters next to the throttle. There should be 2. Mine use to stick like that too and I adjusted them some and it snaps back perfect.

Worste case scenerio someone got Grip Glue in them and it just needs to be cleaned out. But I'm guessing they are adjusted wrong. Just screw around with them until it feels good.

you can also make sure that your carbs are clean. old varnished gas will make the throttle plates return slowly also.

Check to see that the end bar weight isn't done up so tight to be pushing up against the new grip

I've had problems where the grip and bar weight rub up against each other and the throttle closes slowly. One thing about adjusting the throttle at the bar, it is limited. The main adjustment is at the carbs. If you pull off your airbox and follow the cables, you'll see what I am talking about. There is an adjustment that is similar to theadjustmentat the end of the clutch cable.

i had a throttle problem myself, it ended up being a bent clip on. so check your handlebar, if your bike was ever dropped it could have a bend to it that would stick to the throttle which would still be straight. good luck

I took off the bar end, and loosened up the screws at the base of the handlebars, and it moves freely, and can even hear the carbs snap. It appears to be the grip rubbing on either end. I am going out today to trim them up some.
Is there a way to lubricate the throttle cables?

There is some stuff specifically, I think, for lubing throttle cables. I used graphite. Super cheap and works forever.
