throttle sticking?
hey all, Im still somewhat new to the site
I wanted to mention, 2 nights ago, I was riding and it was probably around 33 degrees that night I was riding home from a late dinner). My 99 f4 started no problem with the choke and I waited for her to warm up before riding. A couple of minutes into the ride, I noticed that when I pulled the throttle back and let go of it, it seemed as if it would hang and slowly come back to idle.
I was coming up to a light from about 60mph and the bike stayed at around 4-5k rpm. I had the clutch level pulled back and I tried to twist the throttle forward but it didn't work, it was still revving high.
I turned off the bike and started her up and the same thing would happen. I turned it off again...played with the throttle by pulling it back and twisting it forward a couple of times, then started the bike and it seemed normal.
Has anyone had this kind of problem or know what could have happened for this to happen?
Any help is appreciated, thanks a lot guys. Ride safe and keep warm doing it.

Well i don't know if this is your case, but my bar end was rubbing against my grip so it caused it to stick a little. Maybe your grip slid toward the bar end more? Or could be the lubricants just becoming more viscous inside the throttle. But technically even if it was that shouldn't "Stick" just more resistance.
thanks for the help but i dont think the grip was sticking because when it was revving high, i tried to twist the throttle back to close and it wouldnt stop revving.
my co worker said that since it was freezing that night, the oil could have just got thick and became very viscous.
I took it out in the afternoon a couple of days ago and it seemed fine. I will take apart to see whats going on with it soon. Thanks again.
