Default rough start

my f3 has trouble starting when its warmed up to par... can't be the battery... right?

like after I go for long rides.. shut her off n try to start her up after being warmed up already(IE pumping gas), it stutters and I would have to hold down the start button longer than usual...
or it would just not start at all...

help!!!

Default RE: rough start

It can be the reg though, Its heat that kills it evetually, (then the battery as it drains it). I'm being a bit pedantic, but do you turn the fuel off after you stop? have you altered your start up style at all, ie. giving it to much throttle, alot of people get into the habit of turning the throttle while they crank away with the electric leg, which can flood the motor. If its warm it should only take a stab of the button. Getting back to the reg, the symptom is pretty much this: Go for a ride, stop for a bit. go to start & either flat battery or bike difficult to start. Can't be the battery cos I've ridden here! (like hell it can't) Then the paranoia (must be the battery) As I said reg starts to break down, bit by bit. I think all of us that have had a dicky reg, end up replacing the battery 1st, as it the most logical and straight forward item to go belly up.
When you rest yer bike overnight, if the battery is ok, then the reg sort of recovers a bit (enough to fire up 1st thing). With luck though, it could just the plugs, or a dirty fuel/air filter.
