Default race bike fuel pump removal

Just as stated, If I remove the fuel pump, will I be fine for racing purposes. I know my buddy has his removed on his street bike no prob, but would it work on a race bike just as well. My fear is all the high rpms may cause a fuel starvation issue.

Hey Bob,

I have read on the forums some guys run the bike on the track with no issues. One thing that a cbr owner said that always sticks in my mind is something like "If your fuel tank is less than half full, at wide open throttle on a straight over 1/2 mile long you might notice a slight power loss". Not sure who said it but i read something like that a few weeks back when looking into a fuel pump issue here.

Good Luck,

Blake

I dont think TWS front straight is that long, so I should be ok.
I would fix the pump, But it looks like theres some rust inside the pump.

if there's rust in the pump, have you checked for rust in the tank? And replaced the fuel filter?

Brand new fuel tank ( bought oem honda) and replaced the intank filter, petcock, and inline filter. I put a filter after the pump, and thats the only place thats catching rust.
