What coolant do you run?

Older dirt bikes had a major issue with the incorrect coolant being used and eating the water pump internals and aluminum cases. This in turn allowed the coolant and oil to mix.

I would pull the waterpump cover and take a look inside. Hopefully, that isn't an issue.

Im using a 50/50 mixture. I researched it on here so I know other people use the same stuff.

As for the water pump it did go bad. I replaced it already

When you replaced the pump, you would have seen the cases eaten away if the coolant was the problem.

Glad it wasn't.

Yeah im glad too lol

Today I stripped the bike. Took most the EVAP out all I need are the vacuum plugs for the 4 hoses running to the carbs. A LOT of extra crap in there. I will pick them up tomorrow.

So previously when I replaced the water pump I also replaced the thermostat bc it was stuck open... Looked today... stuck open again...?!?! So adding that to the list.
I also put the new oil cooler gaskets in. Now all I should need are the vacuum plugs, r/r, and thermostat.
Fingers crossed. Ordering them tomorrow(payday!!!)

Long week of interviews. New job starting monday... AT SUMMIT RACING!!!

Too bad I wont make any money seeing as how by the time I get to the front door after getting payed I will have spent it all lol

(INSIDER HINT: Rumor is Summit will be adding street bikes to there catalog!)

Alright so today I ordered my new R/R(Not from China) and a new Thermostat from PowerSportsPlus. Hopefully they will be here beginning of next week.

Still have to pick up the vacuum caps and saw today that my fuze panel cover (by the throttle) screw damaged my radiator cap when I tightened it last. Adding that to the shopping list.

I JUST WANT TO RIDE!!

Well picked up the radiator cap and vacuum caps today. I could put caps right on the stems where the vacuum hoses go to on the two carbs on the outside of the bike. the two on the inside I couldnt get to so I connected them using the a T and put a cap on the end. I started it up without the thermostat and R/R just to see if it would without all the EVAC system... Started like a dream and idled better than it did before I started having probelms!! Cant wait for the R/R and thermostat to get here. Should be here Monday or Tuesday. Stay tuned!
