Default No Start :o(

Howdy, folks!

Y'all were quick to help resolve a previous problem, so I figured I'd pick your expert brains again.

Have a '95. I replaced the plugs and battery in early July and have been riding it without issue since. I drove home from work the other evening with no problem (first time I had ever ridden this bike in the rain) and stored it in the shed. I went out to take it for a spin today, and it doesn't turn over. The lights come on fine, battery appears to be fine (even placed that on charger just to be sure) but when I press the start button - nadda - not even a click (lights go a tad dim for a second but that's about it). Yes, I was in neutral and the kill switch was set to run. The neutral indicator was lit (I tried changing gears and moving back to neutral just to make sure that it's working). The kick stand indicator appears to work as well (raising and lowering turns the indicator off/on). So I'm assuming both those indicators/switches are functioning fine. Any idea where to begin? I'm off to attempt a "spark test" to see if there's juice flowing to the plugs. I'm assuming I just remove a plug (keep it in the rubber cap/wire) then short the threaded part of the plug with the frame, while pressing start to see if there's any spark? Is it necessary to do this with all 4? I'd figure with even 1 working, the bike should make *some* noise/attempt a "bang" in the chamber? )

As always, thanks in advance.

The battery is charged but not even a click? You check the fuses first?

Default Update - Resolved?

Hmm... very weird. Between the time it took to roll it out of the shed and run in here to place my original post, then dodge back out and confirm the lack of a "click" the problem seems to have resolved itself. It now starts! I'm happy, but confused )

Re: Fuse

You know, honestly, I didn't even think to check. I assumed since all other electrical seemed to be operating fine it wouldn't be a fuse problem. I also wasn't aware the starter was fused. )

At any rate I'm just glad it works. I suspect the no start may have been a result of something getting wet, and after it dried it fixed itself? It's the only logical deduction I can make. <Scratches head>

I'll know if it happens again after a wet ride...

Something I learned working at Comcast: start small. There's nothing more infuriating that rewiring a house and discovering a bad splice while running the cable.

If you think its cause something got wet, yank the fairings and check your wire harness for exposed splices. I found more than a few when putting in my alarm. Now they're wrapped tight with elec tape until I can hit Home Depot for some butt splices and sealant

But do check your fuses first. Make sure they're properly seated and all since its running again
