If you want some real power gains then I would get my head polished and ported. I am think about sending my head in over the winter for a P and P job. Something to think about.

Where are some good spots to shave weight without getting crazy? I took about10 pounds off the rear with removaing all the undertail plastics, pegs, and cut down my Yoshi a lot. More worried about the front now. Any suggestions?
Also if I did go with the above 6 degree advance, would I need to run a higher octane fuel to help prevent the dreaded 'D' word?

There are a few things that can be done to shed weight besides the gym. The factory plastics arecomposed of ABS plastic and is heavier than fiberglass plastic (-3 lbs). On bikes have an aluminum reservoir and on newer bikes, they are plastic (-1 lb maybe). Look for things that are available in lighter materials.

+1 on the gym. I dropped 20 pounds and feel great! But that also 20 pounds the bike dosn't have to lug around. Running is cheap and easy.
