I have 1997 F3 and its been giving me trouble lately. I had the carbs cleaned a little while ago and that seems to be when the problems started. After starting it will idle fine. If you ease into reving it up it will shut off. But if you jump on the throttle hard and get the rpms up it revs fine. So today I replaced the spark plugs hoping this would help. After that it only starts with the choke on and continues to do the same thing. As long as the rpms are high it idles fine but when they are low it hesitates and seems to want to die. As far as aftermarket parts I have a K & N air filter and a Micron full exhaust. Does anyone have any clue what my problem could be or what my next move should be. Any help is greatly appreaciated! Thanks alot!!

Only starts with the choke on, which is forcing a fuel rich environment. Ease on the throttle and it dies. Rip the throttle and its fine. Sounds starved for fuel. First, who did the carbs? DIY or a shop? Next, got any duct tape? ![Smile](https://cbrforum.com/forum/images/smilies/smile.gif)
Grab some duct tape, block off most the air filter and give it a go. If it runs better, then you got a fuel delivery problem and will give us a place to start.
