I fixed the Speedo/Tripmeter!
I was changing the position of the clip-ons and I managed to snap of the reset button for the tripmeter. Luckily a little patience and the right epoxy fixed it up so that it works again. If this happens to you do not lose the pieces, the fix is pretty easy.
-Get a good 2 part epoxy, i used one for plastic with a 20 minute set time
-Disassemble the Gauge cluster, and save the pieces so that you can bond them back together
-get some shimming material to support the assembly, I stacked up manila envelopes
-after mixing the epoxy appply it to both sides of the fracture and shim it so that it is a straight as possible and set the pieces together.
-Do not touch it and leave it alone for atleast 2 hours, 4 would be better if you can be that patient
*the only caveat to this is that there is a keyway on the reset shaft that will have to be clear for reassembly, this is usually where these break I'm told. I let mine cure for 4 hours and then carefully cleared this area with a razor blade. Once it was reassembled (***with the spring installed!!) I filled it with more epoxy for strength. I figure it only has to be clear for reassmbly. if it comes back off it will be broken again anyway.
**if it breaks again I will probably pin it in addition to the epoxy
