I suppose a time delay would be good, but i may just install a kill switch toggle into the ground line, so even if the bike is off, you cant flip on the lights until the bike has power going to the relay (triggered by the headlight switch), and has been grounded, triggered by the toggle.

I wouldn't put it on the ground because if you had a short before the switch then it would be pointless.
You should always put the switch before the component you are controlling.

if you think the delay mod is good then why would you bother doing a toggle? it is probably the same price and about the same steps to install. the delay relay would be automatic and look alot cooler turning on by itself vs. a toggle that would either be hidden or noticeably sticking out, requiring you to remember to switch it on...i just see a toggle being a step forgotten during day time riding, which in my eyes is a safety concern.

ok latest...i found a company selling a delay harness for barely more than just the relay on ebay. its utilizing that same delay relay, but comes with a plug and play harness which would make installation like 2 minutes, NO GUESSWORK!.

heres a youtube demo
YouTube - ‪HID Delay Relay kit‬‏

and where to buy
