Help with painting my F3
I want to paint my F3. I was wonting to know how much paint and clear I would need to paint the whole bike? Any help or advice on how all this process would go would be much appreciated. Where can I get the paint, what grain of wet sand paper to use, and suggestion on kits used to fix cracks?
Any advice would be great this would be the first time to paint my bike. Thanks for all yall help.

I just painted a bagger style bike! Front to back with half a quart paint and the same with clear! The guy got a quart of paint and a quart of clear for touch-up.He had plenty left to paint the bike three times. I like to wet sand with 1500. I find it take the orange peel down pretty good. Good paint brands
pg,house of color sikkens to name a few. You can pick up primer, paint and clear for well under $200 here in n.c,at the paint shop. Hopes this helps.

yea that sounds about right for the paint etc, I had to buy a big container of clear, but the paint supply shop will tell you how much you need. Use the plastic repair kits for patching, get some of those terry cloths to clean the parts with before primer and paint, and when it comes to the painting start with the hard areas like the bends or creases, then work your way out and cover the whole part, I would try to mix enough paint so that all the parts match, you will have to mix the paint with some additive - sorry i forget all the details its been so long.
as long as you start in the hard spots on the fairing first it will blend nicely, My first paintjob on a bike came out really nice, but it was only one color.
try to do lite coats as you don't want runs, if it does just let it dry and wetsand the area really well, and recoat. same for the orange peel.
