I just went through raising my bike from the previous owner lowering it (she was 5'3"). I had to slide the fork tubes down in the clamps and replace the rear linkage with a stock one. Wasn't all that difficult.

ok so if i slide the tubes up like 1 to 3 inches that would lower the bike a little with no handling performance lost.??/ thanks for the reply
An alternative to changing the height is shaving the padding in the seat. Search the forums
Anytime you change the geometry of a bike it will handle diffrently. Just lowering the front drasticaly changes the way the bike will handle. If you really feel the need to lower the bike you need to both the front and rear, and that will help, but it will never handle as good as it does right now. Try the search button, I'm sure this has been beaten to death.
