F3 to F4i Gauge Swap
Cheers and good luck!
It depends on your situation. In my case, I bought F4i gauges with LESS miles than showing on my F3 gauge cluster - and then I found a suggestion by scrufdog on how to increase the miles using headphones and a laptop! Check out my site (http://www.omninate.com/cbr600f3/) for instructions (they are under the "modifications" tab). It's easy as pie, and just requires free software and a spare headphone cable you can cut up.
Cheers and good luck!

that is absolutely crazy and amazing.
Hey Guys,
I have done the gauge swap on my bike, but am a little confused, when it comes to the instructions from cbrworld. It states that you are supposed to earth the pink and one of the green wires? apparently the pink wire is the slow speed solenoid? and when i connected these wires together with the ignition on this was confirmed by hearing the solenoid operating.
Now i don't know if it is just my imagination but my bike seems a little sluggish in the lower rev band and slow speeds ( I mean more than normal).
So the question is when we earth the pink and green wires is this closing the solenoid not to be used or opening it so it is open the whole time?

just so I am 100% before I start this. This is the wire connections? Do I need the thermostat right off the bat or can I wait on it?

Connect all the wires. This is the fun part...banghead Not really hard, just make sure you connect the right wires. Heres how they go:
F3 to F4i
Green/Blue Green/Blue
Pink/Green Pink/Green
Black/Brwon Black/Brown
Brown Brown/White
Light Green/Red Light Green/Red
Orange Orange
Light Blue Light Blue
Blue Blue
Blue/Red Blue/Red
Green (one) Green
Green/Black Green/Black
Yellow/Green Yellow/Green
Yellow/Black Green/White
Pink (solid pink) - ground this out (other green)
Brown/Black - fuel reserve sensor - not used
White/Blue - fi indicator - not used.
Red/Green - battery(+) - connect to battery

to do the thermo swap, its a biotch to get to unless you take the airbox off and its a full hour or so, and its so damn easy to break, and costs 40 bucks and IMO, just put it on hold for now.
Yellow/Black Green/White
edit: courtesy of iwanta900rr: .....I finally discovered how to use the 'FI' bulb as the kickstand indicator!! To add, it is also functional in that if you put the kickstand down in gear, it stalls!
f3's yellow/black wire connects to f4i's white/blue wire AND NOT it's green/black wire.

so do I put the white/blue and Green/White together to get the FI indicator to work and whatever the green/white wire is that is attached to it in the wire diagram that is posted at
