Default Engine Seize up

Hello,

I was woundering can my engine seize up from a oil leak if the bike is just sitting? I have a broken shift shaft oil seal and my oil is leaking at a fast rate. Would the engine seize up once the engine is cranked or will the engine automatically seize up without being cranked? Or will the engine be fine? Whats the best way to combat this issue? Thanx

with the bike just sitting and not running your motor will not lose all the oil it needs to keep the internals lubricated. so dont worry about it seizing up just dont run the motor without oil and you'll be fine

Are you going to get that fixed soon??
If you have some time before you get it fixed, make sure to keep it full and dont take the chance by starting it.

if the oil leaks out it could start rusting internally which would be a bad thing. If the leak isn't too bad, I would at least put some oil in there every once in a while and get it started.

I would fix the deal too. It takes about fve minutes and $2.00. It is a very simple fix andrequires minimal tools.

I think Push has the best advice thus far on this.
