Default CBR 125 ran out of oil slight engine seize

Hello, This is my first post so please be gentle.

I have an r4 cbr125 (04) and i was on my way to work when the power suddenly droped off. I instantly pulled in the clutch but could hear metal vs metal. soi pulled off the road and opened the oil cap and yes you guessed smoke bilowed out
got the bike home checked the spark plug and the tip has been pushed onto its self a little(might still work) and there is some shiny metal showing on top of the plug. i havnt looked at the oil as i guess that there wont be any, but im gonna have a check tonight.
Im pretty sure its a bottom end re-build but i herd i might get away with a de-scoring of the barrel and new piston and rings?
if anyone else has had this problem what did you do to resolve it and how much did it cost ?

I'd say you've done a main bearing, maybe more than one, perhaps a small end too). Maybe a conrod has let go too
To rebuild the engine won't be cheap, you may be better off buying a secondhand one from a reputable engine dealer.
Don't forget, no oil also means no oil to the conrod, piston, head, camshaft,crankshaft etc etc.
I think you'll find when you open it up that it's only good for scrap, sad to say.

I hope this is a mistake you will only make once in your life........................
Check your oil and tyre pressures once a week on the same day, and make it a habit.

It shouldn't be too hard to track down a wrecked bike that has a good engine. I think this would be your best bet. Unless you can do the rebuild yourself, which given your post does not sound within your mechanical ability.

Out of curiosity, where did the oil go? Or do you not know?

Hello thank you for the replys i can tell by them and the fact that i cant get the engine to move an inch in any gear that have some major problems.
I am moving the bike to a nice warm fairly roomy garage(what are friends for) so i can remove the engine and have a look inside her. i have som friends tht have re-built bike and car engines so im sure that they will be able to tell me if its dead or not.
i will have a search up for engines in the uk or some breakers. thank you for the advice
