One thing that I noticed when I had a bad CCT was that the sound would go away around 4-5k rpm. I'm sure with an exhaust leak you could hear it throughout. But I've never had that problem.

What is the difference between the lifter set and the lifter tensioner according to this diagram?

Mine came with a new gasket as well! Remember that you'll be working with steel bolts in an aluminium engineblock, so treat your girl nice. Also if you want to make things easier for yourself, let the bike run warm before taking it apart. Use coppergrease for steel to steel connections, and carbongrease for steel to aluminium connections.

I know the Honda manual and even more importantly, IdoDirt, says you need this special tool, but i seriously just used a small screwdriver to wind up the spring before removing the cct.
