Easy way to adjust the pilot screws?
My bike started acting up so I took the carbs apart and cleaned them. Having put them back together the bike barely idles and the rpms jump around a lot. I have yet to sync the carbs or adjust the pilot screws. But now that the carbs are back on the bike it's almost impossible to access the screws, especially without frying my hand. Any secret to it?
Having just dealt with this problem in depth, I can give you your three options:
1. Burn your hand and try to adjust them with the improper tool with the bike running
2. Wait for the bike to cool down and set all pilot screws to 1.5 to 2 turns out and forget about it (this will put you very close to optimum provided you still have the stock pilot jets)
3. Order the factory honda tool that has the bevel gear on it and allows you to reach in there with the bike running (I have the part numbers from the service manual if you want to go this route)
Good luck!
