CB 600 no spark

Default CB 600 no spark

i have just bought a cb 600 1998 it is a complete bike but has no clocks or dash it has the ignition and key it swings over on the button there is life to the back of the coils but no spark at the plug
any help would be much appreciated

I believe (but won't swear) that the F3 needs the dash to comunicate with the ICM.
Other-wise it won't start. IDODirt would be the one to tell you for sure, though.
I'm gonna move this to his F3 forum, for better consideration.

when i got mine it didnt have the dash, and we got it to start.

What's the voltage coming out of the Ignition Pulse Generator (IPG)? If you're getting something lower than .7 volts, it needs to be replaced.
To measure it, unplug the red 2 pin connector just in front of the battery box. Measure the end coming from the IPG (male end).

f'3 do not need the gauge cluster to run. i rode without gauges for a while when i was street fighting my f3.

Yes the bike will start without the gauge cluster plugged in. There is a signal from the Speedometer that controls the Air Vent Control Relay. The bike would run poorly above around 12 mph.
