Default Blinker / Fluid Leak

i have a 1998 cbr 600 F3

So last night was an amazing night and I took my bike out for a couple of hours. In the middle of the ride I went to my friends house and parked on a slight hill. When I got back to my bike there was fluid under my bike. It wasn't black (oil), it wasn't green (anti-freeze), but it had an oily consistancy. I am thinking it might be transmission fluid, but it wasn't red. The bike is shifting fine, so I am not sure what it is.

Also my blinkers raondomly stopped working. They were working all night until I get back to my house and I noticed that they dont work. I checked the fuses and all of them are fine. Could there be a short in one of the wires or something got loose where the blinker switch is?

sat night when i rode it was clear and cool. they have always worked until i started to ride a lot, then all of a sudden they stopped working. the rear are stock and the front signals are flush mount, and either dont work and the fuse is ok, that is what is making me think that it has something to do with the signal switch on the handle bar b.c nothing works. and i really dont want to take it to honda, b.c i dont want them to charge me an arm and a leg to fix something simple. i would rather spend the money on fixing up the rest of my bike.

There is no transmission oil in CBR's, they share the same oil (wet clutch). Just have look under & around the bike to see if you can notice any leaks, if your dropping fluid that much it should be obvious from where it coming from., maybe u just parked in a spot where someone else parked. As for the blinkers, sounds like a short, but you would think you would have blown a fuse, check out your wiring. do that before you go pulling your switches apart, the fact that its got after market front blinkers, would be the 1st place I'd look

Did you check the blinker fluid? I always forget to do that.

Yea man your blinker fluid is working. Thats all it is. Throw some new blinkers on and fill em up and you'll be good to go. So I hope you figured out by now that I am just bs'ing you. Check around your water pump and coolant lines a little more. Just because it isn't green doesn't mean it isn't coolant. Engine ice is purple, water wetter is red, etc.... As far as the blinkers go get out your voltage tester and start from the switch and move down the wires till you lose power. I hate electrical prob's they're the worst. Good luck.

i know your just pullin my leg. i got the same reaction on all the other forums i posted this problem on.

I took apart the switch assembly again.......and everything works in it (lights - low and high- and the horn) but still not the switch. Would I have to replace the whole harness which would involve "rewiring" the lights, horn and signals????? Since the wires are sodered to the switch control, I would assume that I couldn't just replace that individual piece.
