starter problem
I have a 92 f2, that when you hit the start button, the starter spins but does not engage. I called my local service dept, and he said that it sound like the starter clutch is out, My question is can i replace this without breaking the case? Service man thinks that I ought to be able to get to it by pulling the flywheel. any thoughts???
I've never had any experience with this, but if it's anything like a car starter, it's the in the starter itself...the bendix kicks out the gear to contact the flywheel and spin it... I've seen starters on evilbay for pretty cheap.

no I think they are different, i am a mechanic, and have lots of experience with running hoda f1234's in micro sprints, but have never seen a problem like this.
If anyone has experienced the same problem I would like to hear about it, and possably how to fix it.
